About Us

The Sheboygan Visual Artists Mission:

SVA is a growing and active network of visual artists and supporters that enriches the community through the visual arts.

We exist to:

  • Empower visual artists through professional development and collaboration
  • Create opportunities for the community to experience and enjoy the visual arts
  • Promote member artists and their work

SVA History & Purpose

The Sheboygan Visual Artists was founded on July 23, 2007 by Frank Juarez. Its first gathering took place on this day with four artists; Dale Knaak, Stuart Howland, Mary Kuehl, Frank Juarez and one art patron, Dr. Jack Westfall. Since its inauguration its membership has grown from a few members to over seventy artists and patrons today working in all types of media.

The purpose of SVA is to provide local and regional artists with a platform to support, empower, and promote them and their work.
